Terms of service
These Terms govern the pre-shipment documentation service provided by SeeInsideBox (“SeeInsideBox”, “we”, “us”). By booking an inspection or sending a parcel to our station, you (“client”, “you”) agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
SeeInsideBox is an independent documentation service based in China. We receive parcels on your behalf, record their contents, hold them for a short period, and coordinate the next step with you and your seller. We are not the seller, the buyer, a marketplace, an authenticator, a quality inspector, a customs broker, or a freight carrier.
2. What we do
- Receive your parcel at our station in China and log it under a unique file ID.
- Photograph the outer packaging, seal the parcel, and record an unboxing.
- Film the item in 4K under neutral light, with brand identifiers covered in any published version.
- Take macro stills, measurements and weight, and write objective condition notes.
- Deliver a private link and, where applicable, a PDF report and file hash.
- Hold the item for the period included in your tier, then forward or return it as you instruct.
3. What we do not do
Any statement in a report is a record of what was visible at the time of filming. It is not a statement about authenticity, origin, quality, safety, legality, or fitness for purpose.
4. Booking and payment
- You book by paying the service fee for your chosen tier and sending the order details we request.
- Prices are in US dollars and may change; the price shown at checkout applies to that booking.
- The service fee covers documentation and custody only. It does not include inbound freight, outbound freight, duties, taxes, or insurance.
- We may refuse a booking if the item is prohibited, if the information is incomplete, or if we cannot verify the parties.
5. Receiving and filming
- We record the parcel's external condition on arrival. If it is visibly damaged, we photograph it and notify you before opening.
- We film one continuous take from sealed parcel to final measurement. We may take additional stills and notes.
- Delivery targets are 24 hours (Prove) or 48 hours (Check, Verify) after the parcel is logged at our station. Targets are not guarantees; customs, carrier delays, and force majeure are outside our control.
- We may decline to film an item that appears to be counterfeit or otherwise prohibited, and return it at your cost.
6. Your decision, forwarding and return
- You must instruct us to SHIP or RETURN within the decision window for your tier (7, 14 or 30 days).
- If you do not respond, we send one reminder and then return the parcel to the seller's domestic return address, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Forwarding is to the address you or your seller provides. We hand the parcel to a licensed carrier or your forwarder; risk passes on handover, subject to applicable law.
- Return is to the domestic address the seller provided. We do not guarantee that the seller will accept the return or issue a refund. Any refund of the item price is between you and the seller.
7. Fees, refunds and chargebacks
- The service fee is non-refundable once filming has started.
- If we cannot film (for example, the parcel never arrives, or we refuse it as prohibited), we refund the service fee in full.
- Outbound shipping, return shipping, storage beyond the included window, and optional add-ons are charged at the rates quoted before the service.
- If you initiate a chargeback for a service that was delivered, we may suspend the order and provide the evidence pack to the payment provider.
8. Prohibited items
You may not send counterfeit or suspected infringing goods, weapons, ammunition, drugs, controlled substances, hazardous or flammable materials, food, medicine, live animals, human remains, currency, stolen goods, or anything illegal to store, film or ship in China or the destination country. See the prohibited items list. We may open, refuse, return, or report any parcel we believe violates this section.
9. Title, risk, custody and insurance
- Title to the item remains with you (or your seller) at all times. We do not buy, sell, or take ownership of the item.
- We hold the item as a bailee for a short period. We store it in a locked, access-controlled area and record every handover.
- Unless you purchase declared-value coverage, our liability for loss or damage while the item is in our custody is limited to the lower of the service fee paid or the amount stated in your booking.
- We are not liable for loss or damage caused by the carrier, customs, the seller, or events outside our reasonable control.
10. Media, intellectual property and confidentiality
- We own the copyright in the footage and reports we create. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view, download, and use them for your own transaction and dispute purposes.
- You may not use our footage to misrepresent a product, impersonate a brand, or imply that we have authenticated or endorsed anything.
- We will not publish your item, name, or order without your written permission. If we publish a sample, we remove or cover brand identifiers and personal data.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to have the item filmed and stored.
11. Personal data
We process personal data as described in our privacy policy. You must have the right to share any seller or third-party information you give us.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected inspection. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including customs action, carrier disruption, epidemic, natural disaster, labour action, or government order.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith. If unresolved, the dispute will be submitted to the competent court at our place of business. Before filing, you agree to give us 30 days' written notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. The version in force when you book applies to that booking. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
